Kerr Finishes Second in Thrilling Race After Hocker Breaks Olympic Record

In a remarkable come-from-behind victory, Team USA runner Cole Hocker stormed to a shock gold medal in the men's 1500-meter race at the Olympics, breaking the Olympic record in the process.

Hocker, 20, surged past Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen in the final straight to claim the title in a time of 3:28.36, a new Olympic best. Ingebrigtsen, the reigning world champion, had been favored to win the race but had to settle for silver with a time of 3:28.39.

Great Britain's Josh Kerr also produced a strong performance to take bronze in 3:29.05, adding to Team GB's impressive medal haul at these Games.

The men's 1500-meter race had been billed as a straight head-to-head between Kerr and Ingebrigtsen, but Hocker's stunning victory has upset the odds.
